Stand Design Awards

Celebrating the art and science of stand design

An independent programme to recognise ISE's most effective stands

Created by Integrated Systems Europe to acknowledge ISE exhibitors and their stand-design efforts, the Stand Design Awards are managed solely by EXHIBITOR magazine, an award-winning print and online magazine featuring best practices for trade show marketing.

A product of Exhibitor Group (www.ExhibitorOnline.com), EXHIBITOR magazine has hosted its own highly respected and impartially organised Exhibit Design Awards for more than 30 years.

The ISE Stand Design Awards follow in this same impartial vein and enlist a group of highly esteemed designers and marketers, who have no connection to the show and its exhibitors, to jury the competition.

2025 competition

Eligibility

Every stand on the ISE show floor was automatically entered in the free competition and judged on site during ISE 2025. However, any stand that has previously won an ISE Stand Design Award and whose design employs roughly the same size footprint and/or reuses approximately 50 percent or more of the previous winning stand is ineligible for the competition. Thus,  companies may win multiple awards over numerous years, but the same stand may only win once.

Judges and judging

EXHIBITOR magazine’s Editor, Emily Olson, along with Freelance Associate Editor, Ben Barclay, completed the initial round of on-site judging to select the finalists.

During ISE, a group of world-renowned designers and marketers judged the finalists on site. Jurors scored each finalist based on the assessment criteria, and the stand with the highest point total in each category was declared its winner.

Assessment criteria

Jurors consider how well each stand:

  • communicates the name and purpose of the exhibiting company/product/brand,
  • demonstrates effective design realisation/fabrication,
  • enlists colour, graphics, and organisation/wayfinding as a design tool,
  • presents an effective integration of technology (if applicable) and/or lighting design,
  • employs the allotted space and scale to convey key messages,
  • delivers an on-trend and/or impactful overall presence, and
  • incorporates visually recognisable efforts toward sustainable design

Sustainability Recognition

New to this year’s programme was a sustainability category based on the Better Stands Initiative, managed at ISE by AbraxysGlobal. All finalists that are recognised for their sustainability efforts with a Better Stands Initiative Gold star rating are eligible to receive the Sustainability Recognition award.

The Sustainability Recognition winner in each category was the Gold star-rated exhibitor with the highest score from the jurors against the awards assessment criteria.

Process

Finalists were selected in each category, notified on the show floor, and presented with a plaque on Wednesday  5 February.

At the Awards Ceremony on Thursday 6 February, the four category winners and four Sustainability Recognition exhibitors were announced and presented with a trophy.

ISE promotes the winners and sustainable booths via various newsletters and channels, and EXHIBITOR magazine publicises the winners via press release, social media posts, and exhibitoronline.com.
