Shaun Reardon is a principal consultant within the cyber security division of DNV, the global risk and 3rd party assurance organisation and is based in Trondheim, Norway. With almost 40 years of experience behind him he has worked across a wide range of cyber security domains including information technology, systems administration, penetration testing, security management, risk and industrial systems cyber security. He has worked in over 40 countries globally both onshore and offshore including control rooms of large complex installations. Prior to moving to Norway he was a police detective officer at Scotland Yard for over 26 years where he served on a number of units including counter-terrorism, international organised crime, the UK National Hi-Tech Crime Unit and intelligence. He specialised in cyber investigations and digital forensics and was the lead cyber forensic investigator in the 2006 plot to blow up 7 transatlantic airliners. He was also the cyber operations team lead for the London Olympics in 2012 and led the maritime and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) response teams. On retiring from the UK police and moving to Norway he has worked in a number of roles including crisis management. Always keen to improve he has obtained a number of the industry leading certifications and takes pride in delivering the gold standard in cyber security to DNV’s clients.
