Technology as a Tool for Humanisation - Hernàn Elias Lew, Hospital Sant Joan de Déu
ISE InsightsHernàn, who is Deputy Director Digital Strategy and Data at the hospital, explains: "My session explores the implementation of a control tower system in our hospital. I will discuss how this centralised monitoring approach enhances efficiency, improves patient care, and builds trust among healthcare professionals, patients, and families using real-time data".
His presentation will delve into the trends that are shaping the future of healthcare. He emphasises the importance of leveraging technology to enhance patient care and improve system efficiency. “Telemedicine and remote patient monitoring are at the forefront for us, allowing patients to receive care from the comfort of their homes," says Hernàn. "This is particularly beneficial for managing chronic conditions and post-operative care, reducing hospital admissions, and improving patient outcomes."
He adds, "Artificial intelligence and predictive analytics are being increasingly integrated into our healthcare systems."
The session promises to be particularly valuable for technology companies involved in developing healthcare solutions. Hernàn believes that these companies will gain a better understanding of the realities of hospital centres and how they can adapt their solutions to meet the needs of healthcare providers. “Technology companies in charge of developing and deploying these types of solutions will find my session beneficial. They will be able to better understand the reality of a hospital centre like ours and how they can adapt their solutions to our needs.”
At ISE 2025, Hernàn is looking forward to connecting with other professionals and discovering new initiatives that can help his projects grow. "When I attend ISE, I hope to expand my network of contacts and learn from the different experiences that are being developed worldwide. I would love to know new initiatives, share knowledge, and benchmark to help our projects grow too," Hernàn shares.
