Sacha Poignonnec is an entrepreneur and investor focused on technology.

He co-founded Jumia (NYSE: JMIA) in 2012 and served as co-CEO until 2022. Jumia, a leading e-commerce platform in Africa, operates in 11 countries. The company pioneered e-commerce across the continent, became Africa’s first technology unicorn in 2016, and one of the few African-focused technology companies listed on the NYSE in 2019. Jumia employs thousands of people and has been widely recognized for its transformative impact on daily life across the regions where it operates.

Between 2007 and 2012, Sacha worked at the consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Paris and New York, advising large corporations on strategic and operational matters. Prior to that, he spent five years in financial audit—two years at Arthur Andersen/E&Y and three years at Accuracy—where he led financial audits and due diligence processes.

Currently, Sacha is focused on two companies in the circular economy. One is a B2B service in the bicycle industry, which he is building from the ground up. The other is Geev, an app that facilitates the donation of goods between individuals, where he serves as Chairman.

Sacha earned a Master of Finance from Edhec Business School (1999-2002) and was named "Edhec of the Year" in 2019. He continues to contribute to the school through various initiatives.

Sacha, 45, lives with his wife, Marion Sanchez, and their three children in Barcelona.
