Production Manager, The Invisible Solution
Chairman, Tour Production Group
Wob Roberts stepped up to being a Production Manager in 1997 at the request of David Enthoven and Tim Clarke, to look after their new signing, Robbie Williams. A somewhat vertical learning curve later had him running stadium tours by the millennium and the rest, as they say, is history.
Pretty much consecutive stints with Coldplay, Genesis, Queen, One D and yet more Robbie (amongst others) took him through to 2016, when he took a sabbatical year out to be at home with the family in Brazil.
More recently, he’s been looking after Sam Smith and Chainsmokers as well as a couple of very pleasurable tours with Evanescence.
Lockdown shutdown prompted him to start an informal gathering of Production Mangers, now known as the Tour Production Group, to collate some guidance for working in a COVID world. This is now published on the PSA website and has also been developed into a Compliance Course manual by First Option Ltd.
TPG is now meeting regularly to discuss the future of touring, and its many sustainability, diversity and welfare concerns, as well as the plethora of issues associated with the recent completion of Brexit.
