International Sales Manager

Tesse joined ISE in 2014. Her role involves various sales activities, managing and growing a client base of industry professionals from different regions within Europe.

What is your favourite memory from a previous ISE show?

Before I joined the ISE Sales team I was part of the Operations team. Operations are responsible for the final completion of the show floor before the show officially opens. This means a final check at 06:00 on the Tuesday morning (the first show day) with the whole Operations team. This is the first time you see a complete show floor including carpet in the aisles, amazing looking stands but completely empty halls and no one in the building yet – just before four days of chaos start! The only thing you could hear in those empty halls was your own heartbeat and adrenaline after a year of hard work and excitement about a successful show ahead of you.

Where would we usually find you outside of work?

I really enjoy hanging out with friends and family. My boyfriend is a great cook and loves to prepare amazing dinners – which is great in the current times with bars and restaurants all closed. The day after, I enjoy running or doing my weekly outdoor bootcamp training. And last but not least, I love spending time in our holiday house in Friesland (in the north of Holland) where we can go sailing and relax.

What are your top tips for staying motivated during the current lockdown?

In the times we are currently facing, we all see that the world is changing. And a changing world demands creativity and new ideas. Use the time you are not spending on travelling to become creative, invest in new ideas to still be close with friends and family.

What are you reading right now?

I am reading The Pearl Sister, part four of the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley. It’s extremely relaxing.

What are you currently watching?

Together with my boyfriend I am currently watching The Handmaid’s Tale. It is a freaky story, but after seeing a couple of episodes, we became addicted. Unfortunately we are almost done with season 3 and season 4 is still in the making.

Do you have any pets?

I have two stepchildren of four and six and a baby who is 10 months old – all three are boys. Can you also count them as pets?

If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing that you would bring with you?

Besides my children, a cold beer or a good bottle of wine.

If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which three would you pick?

The apps I am currently using the most are WhatsApp, Instagram and NU.nl (a Dutch news app).

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

Focus on the step in front of you, not the whole staircase.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know.

When shopping I have my own little OCD moments by never picking the first product on the shelf.
