Sergi Carmona

I am a Computer Engineer with two master's degrees: one in Cybersecurity Management and the other in Water Business Management and Creation. Both master's degrees are from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC)

Regarding my professional career, I have been serving as the CISO of GRUPO AGBAR (a Veolia group company), now Veolia España, since 2017. Prior to this, I was part of the incident response team and the SOC of the same company but as an external consultant for 2 years (2015-2017). Before that, I was the IT Manager in a factory that was responsible for designing and building rotary printing machines, an experience that allowed me to get to know the 'insides' of the industrial world.

I have been working in the world of cybersecurity for more than 10 years, with a special focus on the industrial sector, protecting critical infrastructures. Although this is not a very long time, I have witnessed the transformation of both Industry and the digital world, as well as the growing importance of cybersecurity within all company processes, not only related to the digital world, since cybersecurity is a transversal part of the company, being one of the key pillars for business transformation.
