Rens van der Vorst is a Dutch techno-philosopher, lecturer, and researcher at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in the ICT and Engineering departments. He explores the impact of technology on people and society and encourages students to think critically about their relationship with digital tools. Van der Vorst is the creator of the Technology Impact Cycle Tool (TICT), an online framework for evaluating the societal effects of technology. He also created a new way to prove that you are human (Ceptcha) and labels for indicating the usage of AI (MMMLabels). He's also the author of books like Digital Gremlins and Why You Always Want to Beat Your Navigation System, where he humorously and insightfully discusses technological challenges. His work blends philosophy, ethics, and tech to raise awareness about the digital world. His newest book, Don’t Mention the VAR, is a parable about our relationship with technology!
