Oriol Juncosa

Oriol has been investing in and supporting technology founders for more than 15 years, having invested in more than 80 companies. Before co-founding Plus Partners in 2024, he built a career that spanned venture capital, entrepreneurship, and corporate finance.

Prior to Plus Partners, Oriol co-founded ESC Venture Capital (formerly Encomenda Smart Capital), one of Spain’s most active early-stage funds, where he backed more than 40 startups including Cobee (top SaaS exit in 2023 in Southern Europe), Amphora, Remitee,… This fund is in its divestment period and it is one of the top performing funds in DPI in Europe of its vintage.

Earlier, he served as CFO and shareholder at Carto, helping the company grow from 10 to 100+ employees and raising funds from Earlybird, Accel and Insight Ventures (close to $100m), amongst others. Whilst at Carto, he also invested as a business angel in over 20 companies like Holded (top SaaS exit in 2021 in Southern Europe) and others.

He was also Investment Director at Nauta Capital, one of the pioneer venture capital funds in Southern Europe, where he sourced and led investments in top Spanish technology companies.

Earlier in his career he co-founded White Peak Partners, a tech-focused M&A boutique with headquarters in London and in worked in investment banking in London with Bank of America Merrill Lynch and BNP Paribas.

Oriol holds an MBA from London Business School in the UK, a Master’s in International Management from Thunderbird in the USA, and a degree in Business Administration from ESADE in Barcelona.

Outside of venture capital, Oriol enjoys traveling, trekking, calisthenics training, and spending time with his wife and two daughters, family and friends.
