Michael Schneider

Michael Luck Schneider has brought life to physical spaces in his 20+ year career. He developed and ran a creative technology lab at ESI Design for 10 years, drove innovation and product development at the DXD department at the world's largest Architecture and Design firm, Gensler, for 6 years, and now leads a team of artists and creators at Volvox Labs in Brooklyn. As CEO and Director of Media Architecture at Volvox Labs, Michael focusses on growing a team and a practice that is based on rapid prototyping, enabling artists and designers to engage in a hands-on design process working in the medium of space, people and technology.

With a deep understanding of technology and content, Michael guides teams in using our tools to enhance, tune and extend space instead of the standard use of technology to provide an easy escape. At Volvox Labs, Michael oversees a team that provides full solutions from high end SFX, interactive generative software, digital fabrication, spatialized audio, robots, kinetics, scent, and soap bubbles. He works with his team to create experiences that activate all the senses to empower people to flow between observer, creator and performer.
