Mabel Lorena Lara Dinas
Fellow of the Innovation & Leadership in Government program at Georgetown University (ILG). She holds a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Universidad del Rosario, a specialization in Social Development Management from Universidad Javeriana, and a degree in Journalism from Universidad Santiago de Cali.
She has worked as a consultant for the World Bank on issues related to poverty, diversity, and inclusion.
She has received the First Generation recognition, awarded by the Government of Switzerland and the United Nations, for being an inspiring Latin American woman leader.
She has an extensive career in Colombian media and has served as a columnist for El País newspaper and as a Washington correspondent for the Prisa Radio Group.
Her journalistic work has earned her a Simón Bolívar Journalism Award and eight India Catalina Awards.
In the administration of Alejandro Eder, she has served as Acting Mayor and Secretary of Tourism, and she currently holds the position of Secretary of Economic Development of Santiago de Cali.
