
Maarten Francq
With expertise in tools like Disguise, Notch, Resolume, and TouchDesigner, Maarten has pioneered extended reality applications and groundbreaking virtual production techniques, bridging live entertainment and broadcast industries. His passion for education led him to head the audiovisual program at the Royal Institute for Theatre, Cinema, and Sound in Brussels, where he revamped the curriculum to embrace emerging technologies.
Currently pursuing a PhD in "AI in Live Entertainment," Maarten’s innovative research includes fully AI-generated music videos for Belgian artist DAAN. As a researcher, he has developed interdisciplinary show control systems and proof-of-concepts focused on data and protocols. Maarten also supports young talent through mentorship and is launching the educational wing of Tomorrowland's Lab of Tomorrow, continuing to push boundaries in entertainment technology.
