Luis Gomez

Luis Gomez is currently the director of the Innovation Hub of Fira de Barcelona, where he led the international strategy of the Smart City Expo World Congress since its inception.

He is a former member of the Barcelona’s city government as Commissioner for Economic Development and Innovation, where he contributed to the economic development of the city.

Always promoting innovation and working with a wide range of industries, such as smart cities, urban mobility, digital technologies, aeronautics and space, among others.

He has an extensive range of European and international experience:

As the International Director of the Smart City Expo, he developed and led business networks in the USA, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, China, Japan, Singapore, and India.

At the European level, he coordinated the creation of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology in Urban Mobility, EITUM.
