I joined SMC over 30 years ago with no prior experience — just my dad’s Citroën BX estate and a talent for neat handwriting. Everything else I’ve learned along the way. I began as one of three engineers and grew with the company, moving into project management and then operational management as SMC expanded and evolved.
Today, SMC employs around 65 full-time staff, covering everything from the detailed design of integrated systems to 24/7 aftercare. As a director, my role focuses on building and maintaining strategic partnerships with our clients and suppliers.
I may no longer have my dad’s Citroën BX estate, but I’ve kept my love of handwriting. I truly have the best job I could wish for — and I relish the challenges and opportunities that come with an ever-evolving industry.
