Javi López
Member of the European Parliament in the Group of Socialists and Democrats for the PSC-PSOE since 2014 and co-chair of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly since 2019. López holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from Pompeu Fabra University and a Master's degree in "Leadership for Political and Social Management" from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He has been a visiting professor of History or Current EU Debates at Universitat Blanquerna - Ramon Llull since 2017. He served as District Councillor and Spokesperson for the Socialist Group in Les Corts - Barcelona City Council from 2011 to 2014.
In the European Parliament, he is a full member of the Committee on Environment, Public Health, and Food Safety, as well as the Subcommittee on Security and Defence. He is also a substitute member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. His work focuses on ensuring a just ecological transition through the legislation of the European Green Deal, monitoring the EU's external action, and developing its strategic autonomy.
He is a member of the Presidency of the Party of European Socialists (PES) representing PSOE since 2018, where he chairs the Working Group on Environment, Climate Change, and Energy. He is also an ex-officio member of the Executive Committee of the PSC - Partit dels Socialistes de Catalunya, where he has held the positions of Secretary for European Impulse and Secretary for European and International Policy.
