Christopher Manhey

Christopher Manhey is the founder and director of Omni Soundlab, a studio and exhibition space dedicated to the development and dissemination of immersive audio in Latin America and Europe. With more than two decades of experience as a composer, producer, and entrepreneur, he has won two Latin Grammy Awards, a Sundance Award, and has been nominated for the Grammy Awards and the Cannes Festival, building a career that balances technical expertise with artistic exploration.

From Omni Soundlab, Manhey has led the positioning of immersive audio as a new form of art and cultural experience. His studio was the first in Chile to be certified in Dolby Atmos Music and the first to integrate technologies such as Dolby Atmos, 4DSOUND, Spacemap Go, L-ISA, and Ambisonics within a single space. Since 2024, the studio has been selected by Dolby Creator Lab as an academic partner for all of Latin America, consolidating its role as a hub for training and innovation in spatial technologies applied to art and the music industry.

Among his most notable achievements are:

● ALMA Observatory: Production and conceptualization of the 10th anniversary event, where he developed an unprecedented technological solution combining Meyer Sound’s Spacemap Go and Dolby Atmos, integrating immersive sound and audiovisual mapping into a scientific and artistic experience.

● Björk & Apple Music: Collaboration with the Icelandic artist for the “Cornucopia” exhibition at Omni Soundlab, one of Björk’s first immersive experiences presented in Latin America.

● Organysmo, Berlin: Development of an artistic residency exploring three-dimensional audiovisual technologies that combined sound, light art, haptic suits, and EEG, examining the relationship between sonic and visual media.

Additionally, he has been an invited speaker at international events such as the Audio Engineering Society (AES, New York), Soundcheck Xpo (Mexico City), and Primavera Pro (Barcelona), sharing his vision on the evolution of immersive sound, listening as a cultural practice, and new models of integration between art, technology, and well-being.
