Carlos Anderson worked in New York as Chief Economist for Latin America at the SBC Warburg (UBS) Bank and as Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions at Lehman Brothers Bank in London. He also worked as Managing Director of ABN AMRO Bank. He pursued doctoral studies in Economic History at the London School of Economics. He holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of London and completed undergraduate studies at the University of the Pacific. Early in his career, Mr. Anderson worked as a journalist for the BBC in London and later as Senior Economist for Latin America at The Economist Intelligence Unit, also in London. In March 2013, Mr. Anderson was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Strategic Planning (CEPLAN) on behalf of the President of the Republic, a position he held until April 2015.
Currently, Mr. Anderson is the Founding President of the Institute for the Future and a Congressman of the Republic (2021-2026).
He is a columnist for the newspapers Gestión and Expreso.
