The Future of Power in the Home
This course will cover innovations in the way electrical energy is distributed, stored and utilised within homes and examine the requirements of various appliances and electrical loads in the home. Discussion will include revolutionary new powering technologies, their possible future impact in the home and how to design for homes which can adopt them. We'll look at the growth of consumer-available alternative and renewable electrical stores and sources and how they could change the way we use and pay for electrical power. We'll examine the trends driving the adoption of these new power technologies and how they will alter the way we might distribute power in the home. In addition, we'll talk about Digital Electricity, PoE systems, DC Micro-grids, and USB power distribution. You'll learn about digital electricity and fault managed power systems. We'll focus on how these technologies benefit from renewable power systems and how regulations might need to adapt to accommodate these new, possibly disruptive technologies. How will the Integrator adapt to and benefit from these changes?
