Sam Woodward
Customer Education Leader
Lutron
Abstract:
You can effectively light a room just by filling it with smart lamps, right? Wrong! This seminar will go beyond light
Speaker Biography:
A regular speaker at ISE and member of the CEDIA Global Technology Council, Sam is responsible for training on control of lighting and shading, for commercial and residential applications across Europe and Africa at Lutron. Sam does this through the development and delivery of education programmes in-person, online and via new channels. Sam's experience in the lighting industry spans over 16 years, with a specific focus on lighting controls. Prior to lighting he worked in the entertainment industry, both as a performer (he is former opera-singer), and also as a special-effects engineer in film/TV (with credits including James Bond and Gladiator) and in stadium entertainment: touring with Robbie Williams. His performance-background, combined with his technical depth-of-knowledge, means Sam is astute in communicating with customers and colleagues, to bridge the gap between complex technical products and clear operational requirements. Sam is a published author, with books published including the 'IET Code of Practice for the Application of LED Lighting Systems' and, in 2016, the 'IET Code of Practice for Connect Systems Integration in Buildings'. He is currently writing the new EDA Specialist Lighting Guide, due for publication in 2018. He is in demand as a conference speaker around the world.
