eSports: A New Arena for Event Technology
Rafal Mrzyglocki
CEO
Aram
Abstract:
The advent of eSports creates an opportunity that may be unparalleled in event technology history. Hear about the challenges and technology that drive this marriage between the exponential growth in eSports' global audience and pro AV experts.

To judge the growing impact of eSports, consider the 2017 Intel Extreme Masters event, held in Poland, which drew a record 173,000 fans to the multipurpose Spodek Arena - and another 46 million unique viewers watched online from around the world.

In order to lure those streamers out of their homes and to actual eSports events, more dedicated, purpose-built spaces are needed - from stadia to smaller arenas to team practice areas to amateur clubs to commercial eSports centres.

This session shares the experience of a pioneer, a company that handled the technical production of the Intel Extreme Masters (2014-18) and a multitude of ESL's live events worldwide - from a 500-seats fan stage in Warsaw to a 20,000 seats-stadium in New York.
