How to achieve good speech intelligibility

Public Address (PA) systems in buildings like airports, railway stations, shopping centers or concert halls have to clearly inform persons in danger about escape information and directions in case of an emergency. It is possible to determine the intelligibility of the messages spoken through the PA by measuring at all public points within the building. Speech Intelligibility is the measure of how well a spoken message is understood. In this session, you will learn about the factors that influence the intelligibility of speech and how to achieve good speech intelligibility.
Speaker Biography:
Philipp Schwizer read for a Bachelor degree in Electronics & Engineering in 1986 and is a member of the AES. He has been with Test & Measurement since he joined the Neutrik Test & Measurement group in 1989 and managed as the Sales & Marketing Manager. In 2000 he started his own company, NTI Audio, in Liechtenstein, developing, manufacturing and marketing high-quality handheld and production audio analyzers. Since then, Philipp has held the position of CEO.
