The Role of Immersive Media Experiences in a Smart Building

Immersive and responsive digital experiences play a key role in empowering people to be an active participant in a smart building. When designed from a human-centered perspective our smart spaces can respond to the larger experiential needs of their users and operators. We will explore the built environment as a dynamic platform that gets smarter with use. We will see the inner workings of the design process and explore real-life applications through a few case-studies.
Speaker Biography:
Gensler is a global architecture, design, and planning firm with 48 locations and more than 6000 professionals.

As part of Gensler's Digital Experience Design practice, Michael Schneider focuses on creating immersive and connected experiences through a combination of technology, materials, and storytelling.

Prior to joining Gensler, Michael spent 10 years at ESI Design developing its Lab practice by integrating R&D and mock-ups into projects.

Serving as the firm's design and technical lead across media architecture and cultural projects, he also oversaw a large amenities programming effort done in partnership with a major real estate investment firm.

With more than 15 years of experience, Michael has created work for such institutions as the American Museum of Natural History, Museum of Contemporary Art- Sydney, and numerous children's museums.
