Mini PCs drive improved digital signage experiences

In recent years, media players for digital signage have gone from bulky devices to pieces of equipment that can fit in the palm of your hand. What is driving this trend?
The main reason is that smaller devices are more efficient in many ways.

Elitegroup Computer Systems CO., LTD. "As technology has evolved, smaller devices are now incredibly capable and power-efficient," the ECS spokesperson said. "They can fit into compact spaces, mobile applications and offer comprehensive, reliable connectivity for remote management."
This is a particular boon for retailers, who often have limited space and need to maximize the effectiveness of their digital signage without crowding out products or other advertising tools.
Another reason for this push to smaller devices is the growth of the signage market itself worldwide.
ECS has attempted to meet this need in the market for smaller media players with its LIVA Z3 Mini PC. This fan-less PC can deliver 4K content while consuming 6W of power.
"Fanless operation means the LIVA Z3 is assured to work reliably, even for long installation periods and in dust environments. With no fan required it absolutely minimizes power use — significant when the whole LIVA Z3 uses just 6W — and it operates completely silent.
