In a socially distanced setting, Mike Blackman, Managing Director of Integrated Systems Events, recently met with Florian Rotberg of invidis to discuss the latest situation regarding ISE 2021. With industry feedback showing that there is a real appetite for a return to face-to-face events, Mike and Florian talked about preparations for the show with an optimistic outlook, while also recognising that we are all adapting to a constantly changing world.
At the time of recording (in the run-up to the first invidisXworld show on 20 January), ISE, which makes its debut in Barcelona in June, has over 700 exhibitors and around 40,000 square metres of space booked; these numbers are expected to increase thanks to new business – in December there were more enquiries from companies that have never exhibited at ISE before than in the preceding four months put together.

Understandably, some exhibitors have reduced the scale of their involvement and so the floorplan has changed a little to utilise a smaller number of halls than originally planned. That being said, 80% of ISE’s top 100 exhibitors in 2020 are confirmed to be present at ISE 2021.
Mike Blackman appealed to the industry to participate in its ongoing research, which helps the ISE team to meet the latest demands around delivering a safe and effective show. Success doesn’t have to mean big numbers – it can mean quality and engagement. In any year, ISE is where the industry comes together to meet, learn and do business.
