ISE In ActionSupporting an initiative that highlights the industry's future leaders

Anna Mitchell, Inavate

Alongside our AV Career Day initiative with AVIXA and CEDIA to provide young people with a gateway to the AV industry, ISE is keen to highlight industry’s up-and-coming individuals and future leaders. That’s why we are pleased to be sponsoring the Inavate 40 Under 40 list. Inavate Group Publisher Anna Mitchell explains how the initiative came about.

In 2019 Inavate EMEA launched a 40 Under 40 scheme to discover the rising stars of the AV industry. One year on, we’re highlighting men and women who have navigated a once-in-a-career event with a seismic impact on their professional lives.

Our aim in 2019 was to find out more about the young men and women forging careers in all corners of the diverse field that is the AV industry. We wanted to encourage young talent with a programme that recognised their achievements and offered insight into their experiences, motivations and priorities. Understanding these people, we believed, was the key to understanding the future of the industry.

Those goals remained firmly in place as we looked for our Class of 2020. But something else became immediately clear. These professionals had faced the challenges that the coronavirus pandemic had inflicted on the industry with ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness. This was a story we had to tell.

A booklet detailing the achievements of the Class of 2020 is out now. Within those pages you will discover 40 professionals demonstrating sharp business acumen alongside compassion. People that recognised the struggles of their staff, colleagues and clients and helped. Individuals who pivoted quickly to find new opportunities as reliable revenue streams disappeared.

In just two years the Inavate 40 Under 40 has already become an anticipated and valued scheme. With the help of partners like ISE we’ll continue to develop and discover fresh talent for years to come. We anticipate their experiences and achievements will be diverse and contrasting. But, as we celebrate the Class of 2020, it is worth highlighting the common foe these young professionals and leaders have faced and what they’ve achieved as a result.
