Technology as a Tool for Humanisation

In an increasingly interconnected and digitalised world, technology presents itself as both a powerful tool and an ethical challenge. Its use should be directed toward fostering humanisation, understood as the promotion of values that reinforce dignity, empathy, and human well-being.
Using the case of Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona as a reference, this presentation will analyse concrete examples such as the "Liquid Hospital" project, a model that transcends physical infrastructures to connect patients and their families, enabling closer and more personalised care. Within this initiative, the Clinical Command Center stands out as an innovative project that monitors in real-time patient flow, care processes, professional activity, and remote monitoring, facilitating faster and more effective decision-making.
These cases demonstrate how technology can become a key tool in transforming healthcare, always prioritising the human connection and holistic well-being, positioning it as a driving force for humanisation across various contexts.
