Created by Integrated Systems Europe to acknowledge ISE exhibitors and their stand-design efforts, the Stand Design Awards are managed solely by EXHIBITOR magazine, an award-winning print and online magazine featuring best practices for trade show marketing. A product of EXHIBITOR Media Group (www.ExhibitorOnline.com), EXHIBITOR magazine has hosted its own highly respected and impartially organised Exhibit Design Awards for more than 30 years. The ISE 2022 Stand Design Awards, then, follow in this same impartial vein and enlist a group of highly esteemed designers and marketers, who have no connection to the show and its exhibitors, to jury the competition.
Every stand on the ISE show floor is automatically entered in the free competition and judged on site during ISE 2022. However, each stand that has previously won an ISE Stand Design Award and whose design employs roughly the same size footprint and/or reuses approximately 50 percent or more of the previous winning stand is ineligible for the competition. Thus, companies may win multiple awards over numerous years, but the same stand may only win once.
Stands will be judged in four size-based categories:
EXHIBITOR magazine’s editor, Travis Stanton, along with managing editor Brian Dukerschein, will be on site for the duration of the show and will complete the initial round of judging to select the finalists.
Stanton has served as editor of EXHIBITOR magazine since 2005. He has written and spoken about stand-design trends at numerous trade shows and conferences, including EXHIBITORLIVE in Las Vegas, EuroShop in Dusseldorf, Germany, and the International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services’ world summits in both Cape Town and New Delhi. He also launched EXHIBITOR magazine’s Expo Awards competition in 2010, which has honoured the most exceptional experiential designs at the four world expos since, held in Shanghai; Milan; Yeosu, South Korea; and Astana, Kazakhstan. In addition, Stanton has juried multiple editorial and design competitions, including the American Society of Business Publication Editors’ Azbee Awards and the Western Publications Association’s Maggie Awards.
Dukerschein has been the managing editor at EXHIBITOR for more than five years. In addition to supervising the production of all editorial content and collaborating on the magazine’s design, he has won national and international awards for his own coverage of stand design and face-to-face marketing best practices. He has also explored the world of museum design and recently curated a 4,000-square-foot costume exhibition.
During ISE, the following group of world-renowned designers and marketers will be on site to judge the finalists. Jurors will score each finalist based on the assessment criteria, and the stand with the highest point total in each entry category will be declared its winner.
