Where would we usually find you outside of work?

Usually at my university library; but with my degree almost in my pocket and the current pandemic situation you will most likely find me staring at my plants in their greenhouse or outside with Yuki, the newest addition to the family, a very energetic Pomchi.

What are your top tips for staying motivated during the current lockdown?

Force yourself to leave your house as much as permitted while respecting all the necessary measures and avoiding contact with others. Getting fresh air in the morning truly motivates you to turn another pandemic day into a motivational and satisfying day!

Do you have any pets?

I have always lived surrounded by animals in my hometown in Italy, and since I moved to the Netherlands I truly felt the difference of not having any furry friend around. Finally in May I gifted myself a puppy, which I must admit has brought endless joy and energy to my life, probably way too much!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what is the one thing that you would bring with you?

I think I would most likely bring a knife or a machete. I remember watching a TV programme when I was little where groups of people had to live on desert islands. The group that was able to put their hands on a machete was always advantaged. It allows you to make other sharp objects for fishing, it helps you with building and keeping yourself safe from attacks.

If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which three would you pick?

I live away from my family who I love and keep very close contact with, I call them on a weekly if not daily basis. WhatsApp is definitely the number one app I would pick. The second app would be my Camera app, I love creating memories and being able to capture those and look back at them. The third app I would pick is probably Google Maps. I have used this app so much while being lost in countries where nobody speaks your language. I think I am able to share this with you because of Google Maps.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know.

In recent months I have spent more on plants than on food… and I don’t regret it.
