A fireside chat between two academic leaders and innovators exploring the potential opportunities and risks of teaching and learning in the next-generation digital environment known as the metaverse. The metaverse is currently a vision for new forms of digital/human interaction. Many of the building blocks already exist but they are not yet connected into a fully interoperable environment. Major technology companies are positioning themselves to gain dominance in this area giving users access to amazing immersive experiences and the providers access to an unprecedented amount of data about their users’ beliefs and experiences.
