Audio Content Programme

AVIXA Xchange LIVE

Tuesday to Thursday, various times, CC4/CC5

Audio is everywhere. It’s at the heart of everything we do – whether we’re collaborating at work, visiting a live event, or chilling out at home. It’s an essential means of conveying both information and emotion.

Audio is, of course, half of AV – and some would say it’s the more important half. In the collaboration and communication space, a meeting can continue if the video suddenly fails, but if the audio goes down then nothing can happen. And with online meetings having had a massive boost in recent years, corporates are now aware that audio quality translates into better communication and increased productivity.

Vertical markets for audio

In the live events space, delivering high-quality audio to every audience member has never been more important. Exciting new venues such as Sphere have made massive investments in audio systems that have far greater capabilities than what has gone before. Software plays an increasingly significant role, for instance in the spatial audio systems that can place sound at any point in space.

And in the home, consumers are increasingly investing in multi-room audio systems, high-spec media rooms and home cinemas.

Whatever the sector, the professional audio industry is continuously raising the quality of the audio experience.

Live Events

In the world of audio, video and lighting, the live events and fixed installation markets enjoy a mutually beneficial relationship.

Many manufacturers are able to make their R&D budgets go further by deploying their technologies in both markets. In addition, the events world’s shorter timescales mean that new technologies and solutions often get added to the inventory of rental houses for use in live events before they are specified by integrators for fixed installs.

Whether it’s concerts, music festivals, sporting events or product launches, visitors want to be wowed. As the live events sector continues to strengthen in the wake of its lockdown-enforced hiatus, audience expectations continue to rise once again.
