Marta Montagut Calvo

Marta Montagut is a Senior Lecturer in Journalism at the Department of Communication Studies at the Rovira i Virgili University and a member of the Asterisc research group. She's currently teaching coordinator. Dr Montagut is also vice-president of the Learn to Check association. Learn to Check promotes media literacy against misinformation. Her research has focused on radio journalism, media post-memory and the analysis of political and media discourse through framing and critical metaphor analysis. She has worked on topics such as the Catalan political conflict, the migration crisis and feminism. She is currently working on disinformation as a weapon of media and political manipulation, as well as analysing journalistic practices in rural media.
