Artificial intelligence has exploded in the last couple of years. Many believe it will be as revolutionary as personal computers, mobile phones, and the internet – some even equate it with the invention of electricity and the discovery of fire.
AI is all-pervasive. It touches every market that makes use of integrated AV solutions, and about every technology exhibited at ISE. And it is accelerating: its computational power is increasing by the month, as is its affordability.
The use of AI within the ISE marketplace predates the explosion of interest in generative AI tools over the past couple of years. Equipment manufacturers have been including (non-generative) AI functionality in their products for some time – for instance making hardware perform more effectively and/or intuitively or performing complex calculations. At ISE 2024, AI-enhanced applications were presented for meeting-room equipment, video processing, retail displays and more.
Audiovisual integrators can enhance their productivity by using AI tools to write business proposals, draft CAD drawings, and even write code. User experience is an increasingly critical area of AV systems integration, and AI assistants combined with spatial computing are set to be a major step forward in the development of XR (extended reality) applications.
Anyone who is based in any kind of workplace can use AI assistants to find information, generate ideas, summarise meetings and more besides.
AI leads to massive productivity gains. That means that if you don’t use it, your competitors will overtake you.
