Professional development is a must at every level, and CEDIA will once again be bringing a packed programme of in-depth training to ISE 2020. With a multitude of sessions that address emerging trends, business challenges, and technology innovations, CEDIA training at ISE will ensure attendees have the knowledge they need to succeed in the home integration industry.

Standout new courses in the CEDIA programme for ISE 2020 include:

Science and Snake Oil: Deconstructing the High Performance Audio Signal Path

Peter Aylett, Archimedia
Tuesday 11 February | 9:30 – 11:00
What does ‘accurate’ mean? What defines ‘great sound’? Why do different manufacturers all say that their system is ‘the best’? This fun and interactive session will separate science from snake oil, and from the perspective of the entire signal path from source codec to room acoustics, and define the elements that come together to produce really great audio. Using private cinema and consumer Hi-Fi signal paths as examples, this course is suitable for all professionals, experienced or not, looking to deliver great audio to their clients.

Beyond 4K Video Distribution

Matt Murray, AVPro Global
Thursday 13 February | 11:30 – 13:00
In this presentation, Matt Murray will break down the HDMI signal to explain high bandwidth video distribution and the challenges it presents for integrators today. The course will dissect the HDMI signal looking at the actual wavelengths, how different distribution methods can change the signal, and what integrators can do to deliver the most optimised picture throughout whole home video distribution.

Planning for a Business Disaster

Geoff Meads, Presto AV | Simon Buddle, Education Director, CEDIA
Thursday 13 February | 14:00 – 17:00
This workshop explores strategies to prepare your business for worst-case scenarios. Applicable to owners of large businesses and one-person companies alike, the workshop will lead attendees through a process to determine mission critical assets, backup, and redundancy strategies plus a whole host of practical advice on improving your ‘disaster readiness’. Led by instructors who have been through the process for both large and small companies, this course will be a voyage into events we hope will never happen. Prepared to be scared, but also prepared!
